Nose Plastic Surgery

When you’re looking to get plastic surgery for your nose, it’s important to know a few things before you go ahead with it. The first thing to do is to talk to your surgeon so that all the options are explored when getting your plastic surgery done.

It’s important that the surgeon knows what you are expecting when going in for the surgery so that they can tell you what to expect.

There are two different ways plastic surgery for your nose is done and that’s either with a reduction or an augmentation.

In a reduction there will be reductions in the cartilage and the bone so that the shape you and your surgery felt was the best move to make will happen. The skin won’t be touched because it will shrink to fit with the new shape of your nose.

There could also be some need to make the nostrils smaller so that the features of your nose will be in proportion with the rest of your face.  There could be some scarring but the way that it’s done by the surgeon should be made so that it won’t be noticeable by anyone.

The other option is to get an augmentation of your nose. The way this is done is that the surgeon will need to graft some new bone cartilage to build up the nose. The cartilage can be taken from many different places in the body and sometimes implants can be used but these are only in special circumstances.

The stitches will be done with dissolvable stitches and should be gone within a week. These procedures are all very safe and the risks are very minimal. If you have any questions with your plastic surgery, make sure you discuss them with your surgeon so that any fears you have can be taken care of.
